Tweens and teens should avoid strong “adult” skincare ingredients that can irritate or damage developing skin. This includes retinol, strong exfoliating acids (like AHAs and BHAs), high-strength vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide unless prescribed, and any harsh scrubs or products with strong fragrance.
